In Spring 2010, Holy Trinity School took part in our first annual Race for Catholic Education to begin Phase 1 of our Library Renovation.
A team of very dedicated parents and teachers raised funds through pledges. On a beautiful Friday afternoon in May, we used a "Baseball Theme" complete with dress, prizes, games, trivia, music, and a ballpark picnic lunch.
The library has been painted, carpeted, and outfitted with new cherry wood shelving. What a change! In May 2011, we walked to raise funds for new tables, chairs, and computer workstations.
In May 2012, we walked to purchase new desks and chairs in Grade 7, as well as materials and supplies for the new Student Art Studio.
In May 2013, we walked to raise funds for our recently renovated "Children's Cottage." In May 2014, we walked to purchase updated Technology equipment and furnish our final classroom with new desks and chairs. Funds raised in May 2015 and 2016 were used to equip the school campus with security surveillance cameras and to establish an afterschool club fund. Money raised from the 2017 Race was used to purchase a server for the school. Funds from the 2018 Race were put toward the purchase of additional Chromebooks and iPads for our students. The 2019 Race funded the second phase of our stairwell and entry improvement and renovation project - lighting, electricity, painting, and student photo canvases to make our school entry safer and updated.
Sadly, the 2020 Race was canceled due to COVID-19 school closures. However, the 2021 Race for Education set a new fundraising record! These donations were used toward enhancing the Intermediate Unit hallway, providing air conditioners for the Student Art Studio, painting the Children's Cottage, and supplementing and upgrading technology throughout the school.
The 2022 Race saw a "return to normal activities" for the day. This Race set the top fundraising amount of over $23,000 dollars. These funds were used to install new security cameras and monitors in the children's cottage, as well as to paint our Kindergarten classroom, our faculty room, and our nurse's office. We were also able to install state of the art safety door knobs in all of our classrooms through the building.
The 2023 Race was another successful event, raising over $24,000. These funds were used to paint our 5th Grade classroom, Nurse's office bathroom, and all corridor doors. We also purchased a new "server" for our Technology needs, and will use funds towards our cafeteria restroom renovation project.
The 2024 Race again raised over $24,000. These funds were used in a major renovation project on the 2nd floor of our Children's Cottage -- including painting, plumbing, new flooring, electric, a new porch roof, installation of an additional staircase, and new furniture and supplies. We also said "farewell" to our trailer in front of our school, and utilized funding to have new concrete placed in this area, with our goal still to add some picnic tables and benches for a "peaceful place."
