Our Junior High Unit has been tackling some of the world's toughest problems right from their classrooms! As a culmination of their project-based learning study of world issues, our student teams - in Shark Tank style – attempted to convince a panel of guest judges why their group’s UN Sustainable Goal is the most crucial, why their plan for a solution is the most realistic, and why the “sharks” should “fund” their group with a virtual $25,000. Each student team of four is comprised of a mix of 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade students who have been working together since mid-January. The top three student groups were awarded prizes. Students who displayed exceptional leadership ability or public speaking skills were also recognized. Thank you to our three guest "sharks": Mrs. Pam Lynch of the DLFF Foundation, Ms. Gina Vinch of CEC High School's Advancement and Development Office, and Mr. James King, HTS alumnus, lobbyist for the Catholic Bishops of New Jersey, and HTS parent.
